Amy E. Colson, MD, MPH, is Research Director at AccessHealth MA. A graduate of Harvard-Radcliff College, Harvard Medical School, and Harvard School of Public Health, Dr. Colson has been honored for both her clinical and research practices. She has presented her research findings at international conferences and in notable peer-reviewed journals. In addition to her work at AccessHealth MA formerly CRI), Dr. Colson is an Infectious Disease Consultant, specializing in HIV and hepatitis C (HCV) care, for Cambridge Health Alliance. Her clinical practice is based at Cambridge Hospital’s Zinberg Clinic which houses a multidisciplinary team of medical and mental health professionals who provide care to complex patients, many of whom struggle with mental illness and addiction in addition to HIV and HCV. Dr. Colson is also a certified Suboxone provider, which enables her to manage opiate dependence in patients. Dr. Colson has strong professional ties to the Brazilian community in Somerville, a group hit hard by new HIV infections. In her clinical practice, she works with nurses and other staff members who are fluent in Portuguese. She is committed to providing access to groundbreaking research to this population through education and outreach efforts.
