How can Community Resource Initiative’s PrEPDAP help?
The Massachusetts Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis Drug Assistance Program (PrEPDAP) helps eligible Massachusetts residents pay for approved medications that can prevent the transmission of HIV. The program assists clients in need by covering out-of-pocket costs for HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis medications (including co-pays, coinsurance, and deductible-phase charges). PrEPDAP can also cover the full cost of PrEP for individuals who lack health insurance or who are unwilling to use health insurance coverage due to confidentiality concerns.
Most commercial insurance plans (with the exception of Medicare plans) are required to cover PrEP labs, medical visits, and at least one PrEP drug (typically generic F/TDF), without cost-sharing. If you are facing out-of-pocket costs that should be covered, please contact the PrEPDAP team at 617-502-1700 option 4. Our PrEPDAP team can help navigate these cases.
